The solution for healthcare and medicine
The growing number of older people and the increasing focus on the health sector are placing new demands on the healthcare system and on medicine. This in turn necessitates drastic changes in the way the sector has been operating. Technology companies are therefore reacting to changing circumstances and developing products to solve old problems.
Slim Sensor are one of these solutions. It is an automated analytics and alert system designed to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare and medicine to facilitate the work of medical staff in patient care in hospitals, health centres, nursing homes and rehabilitation centres.

How it works?
The system is designed to detect deviations in patients' daily activities and operates according to the requirements of the healthcare facility. It monitors the set room and alerts the caregiver if a situation outside the routine norm occurs and medical staff can react quickly, acting according to the situation.
Slim Sensor can be connected to any device
- on your computer, tablet or smartphone It also comes with a speaker. If the patient calls for help, the sensor sounds a tone. The carer can also use it to talk to the patient if needed.
Carers do not have to see patients several times a night to check they are OK. The whole ward can be monitored more easily - by computer or smartphone. This means fewer carers are needed on the night shift.
It is also possible to set an alarm for a specific abnormality in patient behaviour. For example, if the lights come on at a set time in the evening, say 10pm. And that's just part of the sensor's extensive functionality. See below for a full list.
Technical and legal aspects
This intelligent patient care system is decentralised, i.e. it generates alarms without streaming images to a server or recording them. This ensures the privacy of individuals - no video recording, no access to sensitive data or copying by staff. Slim Sensor technology is used to improve patient safety, not to monitor or control them.
For even greater privacy during care, the sensor can be deactivated using dedicated software, ensuring privacy for both the patient and the care staff. Once a sanitary procedure is completed and the caregiver has left the room, it can be switched back on.
As the system does not record, you do not need to register it!

Integrates with other hospital systems
Unjustified temperature changes
Alarm or help button
Sound detection (screams, alarm)
Prolonged, unexplained movement around the room
Limiting time spent outside the room or toilet
In bed/out of bed/fallen on ground
Lighting detection (on/off)
Two-way audio communication, loudspeaker announcements

All installation work is carried out in accordance with the applicable building regulations issued by the municipalities and the Latvian State. Before the start of installation works, the exact locations of the equipment shall be clarified with the customer's representatives and the technical parameters agreed with the customer before the equipment is ordered. All equipment shall be labelled accordingly.
When installing the equipment on site, a new communications network is to be connected to the existing equipment and the supplier is to ensure that all communications are connected to the switch cabinet. In addition, 12VDC power supply units with UPS battery shall be provided on each floor, adjacent to the switchboard. After the installation of the communication network, the network shall be tested for operability by a representative of the Customer. The Customer shall be provided with a statement of the operability of the constructed network.
The main sensor provides 360° visual control of the room during the day and in total darkness using a 360° IR illuminator, as well as an in-cabinet contact unit through which additional external contact units can be connected to connect and control external sensors, windows, doors, alarm buttons and water level devices. The sensor shall have no moving parts and shall provide at least 80 000 operating hours without technical malfunction (MTBF), written confirmation from the equipment manufacturer shall be available on request. The sensor shall have a minimum matrix resolution of 6 Mpix.
The Patient Monitoring System-based software runs on a locally installed rack-mount (server rack-mountable) execution server. In the event of an alarm, the software shall have the capability of receiving and transmitting audio messages as well as receiving a visual signal from a sensor, if such functionality and need is provided. In the case of a visual signal, a simultaneous recording of at least 10 seconds of the moment of the alarm and of the pre- and post-alarm moments, as well as live visual material, shall be provided. The base software shall run in a web browser environment with an attachment installation, also offline.
