Many warehouses have warehouse management systems (WMS) and video surveillance systems (VSS), but these are used as separate, stand-alone systems, thus missing out on much of the added value that these systems could provide if they were interconnected. We offer the integration of the MOBOTIX video system with a warehouse management system that simplifies, speeds up and automates the daily operations of the warehouse and thus reduces operating costs.
Some examples of the functions that can be achieved by combining a warehouse management system with a MOBOTIX video surveillance system:
Efficient event search
CCTV, warehouse management systems and integration
Benefit: a real-time notification is sent to the person responsible for the quantity discrepancy. This avoids errors in order processing (goods not being received or sent in complete sets, incomplete or surplus quantities).
Detecting events in the selected image area
Use barcodes for automatic control of warehouse management systems and cameras:
A) The employee with the assigned barcode scanner selects the order to be picked.
B) Before assembly, the employee selects the loader and scans the loader barcode.
C) The prepared order is taken to the designated gate. Scan the barcode at the gate. With this integration, the system knows which employee and which forklift and barcode scanner is picking the order and at which gate the picked goods are delivered. In the case of an incomplete order, incorrect gate selection or non-selection of a gate, incorrectly positioned goods (truck-mounted camera), a message is automatically sent to the responsible person. All tags and gate barcode scans are automatically captured on video. If the wrong gate is selected and/or the order is incomplete, the cameras will alert you with an audio message.
Benefit: prevents errors in the picking process by selecting the wrong gate for dispatching goods. Real-time information. Helps protect warehouse equipment and goods.

Automatic "Master/Slave" functionality for event tracking
By assigning a custom script (Master) to one of the cameras, the remaining cameras (Slaves) synchronise with that camera. The object is tracked and a selection of different cameras form a single video recording. There is no limit to the number of camera sharing scenarios.
Benefit: makes it easier and faster to find when an object moves from one camera or group of cameras to another. You don't have to manually search each camera individually for the desired event (especially useful if you have many cameras).
Additional software AMS (Alarm Manegment System) - intelligent, web-based software for message handling.
Intuitive user desktop for viewing, analysing, reacting to live streams and events. Prioritise by hour, day, camera group, event type, location, etc.
Benefit: facilitates the detection of non-compliance, errors or mistakes and safeguard functions The AMS automatically classifies and prioritises events.
Worker and/or forklift controls with RFID tags that can be attached to helmets, vests or forklifts.
The video is captured by RFID and messages are automatically sent to those responsible according to a predefined logic.
Benefit: helps control and organise the movement of workers and forklifts in the warehouse, access to certain areas (customs, alcohol or tobacco zones).
Using sensors in existing systems such as light, temperature, air conditioning, etc.
By connecting these sensors to the VNS and setting the limits, the cameras can report deviations from the set limits. Examples include lights on (insufficient lux level), freezer temperature rising (door left open), faulty air conditioning or an environment that is too noisy. All of these can be presented on the camera image in text format and recorded with the video.
Benefit: helps reduce additional costs related to electricity, damage to goods or unsuitable working conditions. The camera's internal loudspeakers can be used as a means of informing employees, for example of fire hazards, unauthorised presence, etc. The security guard can also broadcast actual messages via the camera or a group of cameras.

The MOBOTIX camera system is self-contained and can be integrated with other devices or systems.
Each camera is a separate computer that allows you to receive or control information from other devices. Importantly, the system is independent of a single central logic unit. Each camera is a stand-alone device and can perform different actions in communication with other cameras or other systems. This gives you great flexibility, allowing you to create a variety of non-standard and customer-specific solutions.
